Terms of Service

Last updated: 23 May 2026

These Terms of Service apply to users of the GetJabb platform. Workers are also bound by a separate Worker / Service Provider Agreement. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms and the policies incorporated by reference below.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By tapping "I agree", creating an account, or otherwise using the platform, you confirm that:

Your electronic acceptance is a binding signature under sections 84 and 93 of the Evidence Act 2011 (as amended). We keep a versioned record of which version you accepted and when.

If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.

2. What GetJabb is — and is not

2.1 We are a marketplace, not a service provider

The platform is a technology marketplace that connects users with independent service providers ("Workers"). GetJabb does not provide, supervise, control, perform, or warrant the underlying services delivered by Workers. Workers are independent contractors, not employees, partners, agents, joint venturers, or franchisees of GetJabb.

2.2 Workers are responsible for their work

Workers are solely responsible for:

  • the services they perform and their quality;
  • the tools, materials, and means of performing those services;
  • their compliance with applicable laws, licences, and tax obligations (including VAT, PIT, and any sector-specific licences);
  • their own conduct and the conduct of any helpers they bring;
  • any third-party rights they touch.

2.3 You contract directly with the Worker

When a Worker accepts your task, you enter into a direct contract with that Worker for the underlying services. GetJabb is not a party to that contract. We provide the introduction, messaging tools, payment rails, dispute framework, and safety features described in these Terms.

3. Eligibility

You may use the platform only if you:

  • are 18 years of age or older and have full capacity to contract under Nigerian law;
  • are not currently barred from the platform;
  • are not on a sanctions, PEP, or terrorist financing list applied by GetJabb;
  • provide accurate registration information and keep it current;
  • use the platform for lawful purposes and in line with these Terms.

We may refuse to provide service or close your account if any of these conditions stop being true.

4. Your account

You are responsible for:

  • maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and devices;
  • all activity that occurs under your account;
  • notifying us immediately at safety@getjabb.com if you suspect unauthorised use.

We may require additional verification at any time (phone OTP, email OTP, ID upload, selfie liveness, BVN/NIN where applicable). We may suspend access pending verification.

5. Booking, performing, and paying for a task

5.1 Posting a task

You agree to describe the task accurately, including scope, location, timing, hazards, and any special requirements (for example, pets in the home, stairs, lifting). Inaccurate task descriptions are grounds for cancellation by a Worker at your cost and may forfeit refund rights.

5.2 Pricing

Pricing for each task is shown before you confirm. It may include the service price, platform service fee, payment processing fee, and applicable taxes (including VAT where required by the VAT Act and Finance Act 2023). You authorise GetJabb and our payment partners to charge your selected payment method for these amounts.

5.3 Task stages

For pricing, cancellation, and dispute purposes a task moves through these stages:

  1. Posted — task is visible to Workers.
  2. Accepted — a Worker has accepted.
  3. En route — Worker is travelling to the location.
  4. On site — Worker has arrived.
  5. In progress — work has started.
  6. Completed — Worker has marked the task complete.
  7. Platform closed — the task has been confirmed by the User, or closed after the dispute window, and marked complete in GetJabb's platform records. This status does not mean GetJabb is holding or releasing funds.

5.4 Cancellation and refunds

Cancellation rights, fees, and refunds depend on which stage the task is in. The rules are in the Refund & Dispute Policy.

5.5 Payments

  • GetJabb does not operate a wallet, stored-balance account, coin storage, or internal escrow for customer or provider funds.
  • All payments are processed by licensed third-party payment service providers (e.g. Paystack). GetJabb does not directly hold or store card details.
  • When you select or book a Worker for a specific task, you complete Paystack checkout and are charged for that task before the task is carried out.
  • Eligible task payments are split through Paystack Split Payments / Transaction Splits: the Worker/provider share is routed to the Worker/provider Paystack subaccount according to Paystack's settlement process, and GetJabb receives only its platform commission through the split.
  • GetJabb does not hold provider funds for later payout, does not collect provider funds into GetJabb's merchant balance for release after completion, and does not operate manual payout or request-payout flows for provider shares settled through Paystack.
  • GetJabb provides a task confirmation and dispute process. Refunds, cancellations, non-delivery complaints, and disputes are handled according to the Refund & Dispute Policy and Paystack-supported payment, refund, and dispute processes.
  • GetJabb may take platform action (including account restrictions) to investigate suspected fraud, AML concerns, sanctions hits, or live disputes, and may coordinate payment adjustments through Paystack-supported processes where applicable.

5.6 Receipts and records

Receipts and transaction records are available in-app. By using the platform you consent to receive receipts and statements electronically.

6. Conduct: what you must not do

You agree that you will not, directly or through anyone else:

  • post or request illegal tasks, including drugs, weapons, prostitution, fraud, money laundering, terrorism financing, sanctioned activity, or any activity prohibited by Nigerian law;
  • harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate, discriminate against, or violate the dignity of any other person on or off the platform;
  • engage in any conduct that violates the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act 2015, the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2015 (as amended), or any other criminal statute;
  • discriminate against Workers (or Users) on prohibited grounds (contrary to the Constitution of the FRN s.42, the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities Act 2018, and the FCCPA 2018);
  • circumvent the platform's fee, payment, or matching systems (including by paying Workers off-platform for tasks introduced on-platform);
  • post or solicit false, misleading, abusive, defamatory, or AI-generated fake reviews;
  • scrape, copy, mirror, reverse engineer, decompile, or build a competing product from the platform; access the platform by automated means without our written consent;
  • upload viruses, malware, or harmful code; interfere with platform integrity or availability;
  • impersonate any person or entity; misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
  • collect or harvest personal data of other Users or Workers other than for the legitimate purpose of completing a specific task;
  • use the platform for any business that has not been disclosed to and approved by us.

A breach of this section may result in immediate suspension, termination, refunds, chargeback responses, or payment adjustments where applicable under Paystack-supported processes, and reporting to the NPF, EFCC, NFIU, NDPC, FCCPC, or other authorities.

7. Safety, background checks, and verification

7.1 Worker verification — what it is and is not

We carry out an identity and document verification process for Workers before they can offer services. Where lawful and where the Worker consents, we may also check public records, sanctions and PEP lists, and run other due diligence.

Verification is not a guarantee. We do not warrant any Worker's character, history, fitness for a task, or future conduct. Background checks have limits: criminal records databases in Nigeria are not centralised, and we cannot foresee a person's future actions. You must use your own judgement before letting any Worker enter your home, vehicle, or workplace.

7.2 Assumption of risk

You acknowledge and agree that using a marketplace to receive in-person services carries inherent risk, including risk of personal injury, property damage, theft, and unsatisfactory service. You assume this risk voluntarily.

7.3 Safety recommendations

Before each task we strongly recommend that you:

  • share your live trip / Worker details with a trusted contact;
  • meet in a well-lit, public area where possible for handovers;
  • secure valuables and pets;
  • never share BVN, full card details, OTPs, or your account password with any Worker.

7.4 Reporting safety incidents

Report any safety incident (harassment, assault, theft, threats, injury) to safety@getjabb.com or via the in-app safety button. We will respond per our Trust & Safety Policy and will cooperate with the Nigeria Police Force and other authorities where appropriate.

8. Reviews and ratings

You may leave reviews and ratings of completed tasks. Reviews must be truthful, based on direct experience, and not defamatory or discriminatory. We may moderate, edit, or remove reviews that breach these Terms, our Acceptable Use Policy, or applicable law.

9. Intellectual property

The platform, including software, designs, logos, names, content we produce, and the GetJabb brand, is owned by or licensed to GetJabb and is protected by the Copyright Act 2022, the Trade Marks Act, and other applicable laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the platform for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of the platform, except to the limited extent permitted by mandatory law.

You retain ownership of content you upload (for example, task photos), but you grant GetJabb a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, and display that content as needed to operate and improve the platform, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations.

10. Insurance

GetJabb does not currently provide insurance cover for Users or Workers. Any cover that may be offered by Workers or by third-party insurers is the responsibility of those parties.

11. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law:

  • the platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis;
  • we do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from viruses;
  • we do not warrant any Worker's services, qualifications, character, or future conduct;
  • we do not warrant that the platform is fit for any particular purpose;
  • nothing in this section affects any right you may have under the FCCPA 2018 that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Limitation of liability

12.1 No liability for matters outside our control

We are not liable for:

  • the acts, omissions, or conduct of Workers or other Users;
  • personal injury, illness, death, sexual assault, harassment, theft, property damage, or other harm arising from any task or interaction between Users and Workers;
  • losses caused by your failure to follow safety recommendations;
  • delays, failures, or losses caused by events beyond our reasonable control (see Force Majeure, section 19);
  • loss of profits, loss of business, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill, loss of data, or any indirect, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

12.2 Cap on liability

Where we are nevertheless found liable, our total aggregate liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) ₦50,000 and (b) the total Platform service fees that GetJabb actually received from you in that 12-month period in respect of the task or matter giving rise to the claim.

12.3 Statutory rights preserved

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits:

  • liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
  • liability for death or personal injury caused by our gross negligence (to the extent such exclusion is prohibited by Nigerian law);
  • rights you have under the FCCPA 2018 that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GetJabb, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, fines, penalties, and reasonable legal costs arising out of or related to your breach of these Terms, your acts or omissions on the platform, any task you post or receive, any content you upload, or any violation of law or third-party rights.

We may take over the defence of any matter we choose, at our cost. You will cooperate with us in the defence and will not settle without our prior written consent.

14. Suspension and termination

14.1 Our right to suspend or terminate

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account, restrict access to payment-related platform features where permitted by law and Paystack-supported processes, and remove your content, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe that you have breached these Terms, pose a safety risk, have engaged in fraud or abuse, or have created legal exposure for GetJabb. Where it is safe and lawful to do so, we will tell you the reason and how to appeal.

14.2 Your right to close your account

You may close your account at any time in-app or by contacting support@getjabb.com. Closure does not relieve either party of obligations accrued before closure.

14.3 Effect of termination

On termination, your right to use the platform ends immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination remain in effect.

15. Governing law, jurisdiction, and dispute resolution

15.1 Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

15.2 Tiered dispute resolution

If you have a dispute with GetJabb you agree to the following steps in order:

  1. Internal resolution. Contact support@getjabb.com. We will acknowledge within 2 business days and aim to resolve within 14 days.
  2. Mediation. If unresolved, the parties will attempt mediation in good faith under the Arbitration and Mediation Act 2023, administered by the Lagos Multi-Door Courthouse or another mutually agreed centre, before commencing arbitration.
  3. Arbitration. Any dispute not resolved by mediation within 30 days will be finally settled by arbitration under the Arbitration and Mediation Act 2023, seat Lagos, Nigeria, language English.

15.3 Court forum (carve-outs)

Claims for urgent injunctive relief, small-claims matters, and claims that cannot lawfully be arbitrated may be brought in the High Court of Lagos State or, where applicable, the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos.

15.4 Regulator complaints

Nothing in this section prevents you from filing a complaint with the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), or another regulator with jurisdiction.

16. Anti-money laundering, sanctions, and tax

GetJabb is committed to compliance with the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act 2022, CBN AML/CFT Regulations, and applicable SCUML obligations. We may request additional information, restrict transactions, file Suspicious Transaction Reports with the NFIU, and cooperate with the EFCC and NPF as required by law.

We may collect and remit taxes (for example, VAT) on the platform service fee where required by Nigerian law. You are responsible for any other taxes that apply to you.

17. Communications

By using the platform you agree to receive transactional, security, and operational messages from us by SMS, push notification, email, or in-app message. Marketing messages are subject to a separate consent that you may withdraw at any time (see Privacy Policy section 15).

18. Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms from time to time. For material changes we will post the updated version, notify you at least 14 days before the change takes effect where practicable, and ask for fresh consent where required by law. If you do not agree with a change you must stop using the platform before it takes effect.

19. Force majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, fire, flood, epidemic or pandemic, war, civil unrest, strikes, currency controls, internet or telecommunications outages, third-party platform failures (including payment processors and cloud providers), government or regulatory orders, and cyber-attacks not caused by our gross negligence.

20. General terms

  • No agency: Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, employment, agency, or franchise between you and GetJabb.
  • Assignment: You may not assign your rights or obligations without our written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a corporate transaction or restructure.
  • Entire agreement: These Terms, together with incorporated policies, constitute the entire agreement between you and GetJabb regarding the platform.
  • Electronic signature: Electronic acceptance of these Terms is valid and binding under the Evidence Act 2011 (as amended).
